This map data layer represents intersection points within the roadway network for the City of Bloomington, Indiana. It includes source data from the City of Bloomington and Monroe County to create a countywide network. The data set includes non-street intersection points wherever the road network is divided such as changes of jurisdiction, maintenance responsibility, or changes of road type.
Intersections outside the City's mapped area may not be positioned accurately. Attributes for intersections outside the City of Bloomington are updated from information supplied by Monroe County Planning, Monroe County Public Works, and Ellettsville Planning.
The Indiana University Campus Area layer represents the primary boundary of Indiana University Bloomington campus. It contains the main campus area and athletic facilities. It does not include all campus facilities.
This map data layer represents the edge of pavement of roadways for the City of Bloomington, Indiana. It was created and updated from aerial photography. Continual updates are made as needed. It includes paved roads, gravel roads, and bridges. It includes some improved alleys, access drives, travel lanes, and other miscellaneous road features. Features may be identified as coincident to building and parking structures.
This map data layer represents the zoning district boundaries for the City of Bloomington, Indiana as defined through the City's zoning ordinance. The most recent comprehensive zoning ordinance is the May 17, 2020 Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). Map amendmentswere made effective May, 2021. Updates through amendments to the zoning ordinance are applied as approved by the City Council.
Locations of Bloomington's facilities throughout the city, ranging from parks, offices, operational buildings, public safety facilities, etc. These locations are a snapshot of the city's facilities at the time of publishing. For more current and complete data for each type of facility, there should be alternate data sources specific to each category available on the Bloomington Data Portal.
This layer represents the building footprint geometry in the City of Bloomington. These footprints are derived from 2021 aerial imagery and should be considered an approximation of the buildings dimensions.
This map data layer shows the areas assigned to Neighborhood Compliance Officers with the City of Bloomington Housing and Neighborhood Development Department (HAND).
This map data layer represents the boundaries of the Bloomington Community Revitalization Enhancement Districts (CRED). Bloomington has two CRED’s; the Downtown CRE District and the Thompson CRE District. The districts allow the City of Bloomington to capture increased sales and income tax dollars generated by new business investment within the area and to use the funds for economic development purposes within the District.
